Higher Education and STEMM
The Higher Education practice focuses on problems of teaching and learning in post-secondary institutions, with a particular focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM). This area provides analysis, evaluation, and evidence to assist practitioners and policy makers in designing and improving educational programs.
Work in this area has included evaluations of an intervention aimed to close the opportunity gap in large-enrollment university courses and a program that provides workshops and research experiences to support the progression and retention of URM students in biology majors in community college classrooms. Consulting projects include supporting aligning medical resident learning standards to processes of patient care and mentor support.
